ABOUT CARLIE

I am a mental health professional, a small business owner and a mom. I love my job and feel very blessed to be able to come along side my clients while they overcome difficulties. After working for many years in family law, I entered graduate school and received my Masters in Social Work from St. Ambrose University. After grad school I worked for several agencies and a private practice before starting Bee Well Child and Family Therapy. I utilize play therapy methods to connect with and help children overcome and succeed while they are gaining self confidence.  For older children/adolescents, I implement theraplay, art and cognitive behavioral activities into sessions which allows the adolescent to be creative, grow and heal, in a fun environment. When working with families, I assist in processing through recent or current situations and past issues needing healing and reconciliation. I look forward to connecting with you and can be reached by email or phone.

ABOUT GABRIELA

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), who received a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa. I believe that mental health starts with warmth and genuine connection. If you, or your child, feel misunderstood, lost, or out of control, I’m here to help! I’m passionate about helping individuals and families navigate challenging seasons of life and feel truly confident in themselves and their relationships. My style as a therapist is eclectic and individualized, since there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and figuring out what works best for you will be part of our process. My goal is to create a judgement-free space where you can laugh, cry, rage and be unapologetically yourself.  I take much more than just the individual person sitting in front of me into consideration, as I believe culture, community, environment and systematic issues play a big role in wellbeing. Together, we will build skills that can serve and empower you even after our time together is done. I have extensive experience collaborating with parents as well as working with the LGBTQ+ and Latin population. I speak Portuguese and Spanish, in addition to English. If you're ready to start thriving, contact me and let’s start our work together!
